The shots used in this film were shot in the Netherlands at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. The people immortalized in them enjoy life: they play sports, play with children, flirt. Although it is difficult to bear the thought that we cannot distinguish one from the other, there are among them both future victims and perpetrators of the Holocaust.
